Fashion After Dark's fashion show with designer Gustavo Cadile was a huge success! Beauty Icon and Borghese CEO Georgette Mosbacher was the host for the evening and the special guest of the evening was Associate Editor of VOGUE, Eve MacSweeney. Elizabeth Scokin produced a great show with great committee members, including the council's own Manuel, Morelia and Skippy.

FASHION AFTER DARK

Lexus of Nashville present's Nashville "Fashion After Dark" and will consist of two events. The first is a charity fashion show on Saturday November 21st at Lexus of Nashville featuring the Spring 2010 collection of Gustavo Cadile. The proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation. The second is a city-wide event where retail stores will stay open until 10pm on Tuesday November 24th. Retail stores will donate 5% of sales from 7 to 10pm to the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.

COUNTRY LEGENDS AND NEW HORIZONS

Manuel's Exclusive Clothier will put on a monthly event at the Manuel Boutique called "Country Legends and New Horizons". The 4 month event, which will start on June 24 from noon to 2pm, will feature some personal friends and clients of Manuel performing their hits

The first entertainer will be Larry Weiss, who wrote the million-selling song "Rhinestone Cowboy". July's performer will be Jack Green, who had nine #1 hits and two #1 albums, one of which held it's position for an entire year..

Manuel's custom-made outfits have become iconic and are considered works of art and can be found in museums such as the Metropolitan, the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, and the Smithsonian.

SPEAK SILENTLY FASHION SHOW

Debuting her Norma Clare clothing line, designer Anna Redmon introduced herself to the community before a packed house at Uptown 162. The clothing line is named in honor of her grandmother who was a custom suit designer from Alabama. Among those in attendance were Matt Kearney, Nate and Cary Barlowe of Luna Halo, and Jeremy Redmon of Big Daddy Weave, just to name a few.

The music filled event featured several musical acts. While showcasing the first Norma Clare line, the models walked the runway to the music from the band Brenn. As a special surprise after the fashion show, Matt Ridenhour, Tommy Sims, and Jonny Lang took the stage.

The event, "Speak Silently, Live Deliberately", also featured fine art from Shortridge Fine Art and a new Brazilian line of jewelry from Kendall Moore and Associates.

Manuel has partnered with Gaylord's new store Opry Originals to provide a Grand Ole Opry experience for fans and tourists. Manny Cuevas, son of Manuel, designed the Opry Originals' new Opry by Manuel clothing line. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be April 20 at 10AM featuring a rhinestone ribbon desinged by Manuel and will be cut by Manuel client and Grand Ole Opry legend Little Jimmy Dickens. MCFC AGAINST CANCER

The MCFC will again be a driving force behind "FUSION", the event that raises money for the Minie Pearl Cancer Foundation. MCFC President, Alain Patterson, will be the lead designer for the fashion show, and board member Manuel will also be a key figure for the fashion show. This will be Skippy's 4th year helping orchestrate the charity event.

AP COUTURE CELEBRATES 20 YEARS

Alain Patterson Couture celebrated it's 20th year anniversary on the 11th at Nashville's Creative Spaces. The show reflected his work over the last two decades. The evening had several surprises, including former model and current ABC News 2 reporter Stephanie Langston coming out of modeling retirement to once again grace the catwalk.

MCFC INDUCTS INAUGURAL DESIGNERS,
AWARDS FASHION LEADERS

At "The Little Black Dress Cocktail Party" on August 21st, the MCFC inducted it's first four designers: Manuel Cuevas, Alfred Fiandaca, Karen Hendrix, and Alain Patterson.

The council also bestowed honors upon Manuel Cuevas with the "Lifetime Achievement Award", Alfred Fiandaca with the "Womenswear Designer of the Year Award", and international model and Nashville Native, Duran Bunch with the "Fashion Icon of the Year Award". Duran will also be on the cover of the September issue of "Italia Vogue".

The MCFC salutes these individuals for not only their hard work and dedication to the fashion industry, but also for their work in advancing fashion in Nashville and the Southeastern United States.

Due to last minute circumstances, Alfred Fiandaca was unable to attend the event.

MCFC SHOWS OFF LITTLE BLACK DRESS WINES

MCFC ANNOUNCES FIRST EVENT

The Music City Fashion Council (MCFC) announced today that their first official event, "The Little Black Dress Cocktail Party", will be held 7-9pm August 21, 2008 at Gallery One in Belle Meade. The event will introduce the council, as well as benefit both the council and the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation.

This event will be an introduction to the council, their goals and objectives, serve as the induction of the inaugural members and bestow honors upon individuals who have helped promote fashion in Nashvlle.
